Using student resources

Study Shuffle mixes quiz questions, flashcards, key terms, Slides slides, topics and occasional videos. Each item is used once per session and questions stay with their answers. Videos are included automatically. Auto Quiz and Auto Flashcards play just that resource, with thinking time before answers appear. Use Previous, Pause, Resume and Next to control playback. Back to Unit ends Study Shuffle and returns to the unit. The stop control in Auto Quiz or Auto Flashcards returns to that activity. Voice follows your Voice Settings; videos that cannot play automatically are skipped.

Select a topic to read its explanation. Use Search unit to find topics, key terms and available resources.

Check your understanding reveals a review question; try it before showing the suggested response.

Slides show the unit’s key points one step at a time. Previous slide and Next slide let you move at your own pace. Read aloud reads the current slide. Pause/Resume and Stop are inside the slide box and in the main audio controls. Quiz fills the browser window with larger questions, answers and feedback. Close or Escape returns to the unit. Read aloud reads the current question or revealed feedback; Stop ends playback. Restart quiz clears your answers and returns to Question 1. Flashcards fill the browser window with large text. Tap the card to reveal its meaning; Close or Escape returns to the unit. Previous, Next and Shuffle cards move through the deck. Read aloud reads the current card; Stop ends playback.

Read aloud reads the current text aloud. Choose a voice and speed in Voice settings; Try voice plays a short sample. Pause and Stop control playback. Quiz answers are read only after you answer, and flashcard meanings only after you reveal them. PDF View includes Read Aloud for the current page, with Pause and Stop. Reading stops when you move to another page or close the PDF. Images are not automatically described.

Topics, Posters, Key terms, Videos and Slides open a full-screen resource view. Back to unit or Escape returns to your previous place. Back to topics returns to the topic list within the resource view. Key Terms has a simpler header; each term has its own Read Aloud button. While speaking, press Stop Reading on that same button to stop. Dictionary and Help are available from the unit menu. PDF View opens the revision guide in its reader. Use Download inside the PDF viewer to save a copy.

Translate opens instructions for Chrome, Edge and Safari. Choose your browser to see the steps for computers and phones. Translation is controlled by your browser.
